The Mission to Seafarers Our Mission
Upcoming Event:
The Seattle Seafarers Center's annual Ditty Bag Day event will again take place at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in West Seattle. Last year more than 100 folks joined us as we packed more than 2,000 of these wonderful Christmas gifts. We will be putting the bags together this year on Saturday, November 23, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
For further information, please call us at (206) 935-3439 or send an email to office@mts-seattle.org

Seafarers need us. The reality of working at sea is that it is the third most hazardous occupation, due to natural elements and piracy. The work takes seafarers away from their homes and families for months at a time. While at sea they are isolated. When in port, they often find themselves alienated by language and culture. Moreover, under the Homeland Security rules, shore leave in the United States is often difficult to obtain.
